According to a recent FICCI report, the Indian animation and VFX industry is growing in excess of 20%.</p> <p><img src="http://www.allschoolscolleges.com/UserFiles/Image/animation-course.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="400" /></p> <p><strong>JOB PROSPECTS</strong></p> <p>The industry has lately seen a massive influx of youngsters keen to make a career here. There are a variety of roles to choose from. Content developer, Modeler, StoryBoard Artist, Character Animator, Background Artist, Layout artist, 2D animator, Scanner operator, Compositing artist, Special effects artist, Audio and video specialist, Visualize, Texture Artist, Rigging Artist, Clean-up Artist, Lighting Artist, Compositor, Editor, Rendering artist, 3D animator, Image Editor - Website designing, CD-ROM production, graphics designing to three-dimensional product modeling are some fields where budding animators can gain employment.</p> <p><strong>ELIGIBILITY</strong></p> <p>A major advantage of choosing a career in animation is the fact that it is easy to train interested youngsters. Entry into the field only requires an aptitude in sketching, drawing, and basic knowledge of computers. There are no specific subjects one can study, but many colleges in India do offer courses that may help youngsters in building their profiles. Government initiatives are also coming up in this field. Telangana has its very own animation, visual effects, and gaming organization, TVAGA. TVAGA (Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association), is a nonprofit association, formed and led by a team of well-known CEOs, founders, and academicians of visual effects, animation, and gaming industry in India.</p> <p style="text-align: justify; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;">GOOGLE_AD_DATA<br /><strong>SCENARIO ABROAD</strong></p> <p>Several nations in Europe and countries like the US, Canada, Korea, and Japan have been trendsetters in this regard. These countries all have very evolved animation industries. They have formal colleges and universities where animation courses are taught. Their respective governments provide subsidies to youngsters wanting to make a career in animation. Hence, the whole industry has prospered. (The author is a graduate of FTII and a filmmaker.
