M.Tech with a major in Manufacturing Engineering is a postgraduate degree course which is offered in many universities in India and can be done in regular basis or correspondence basis. The general duration of this course is two years but it may vary when done in correspondence basis.
The course is designed to educate students with the deep understanding of manufacturing process which includes planning, design, materials, inspection, process equipment, testing and quality assurance.
M.Tech in Manufacturing Engineering is the study of various production/ manufacturing processes in which students will get to understand the fundamentals of designing, planning, and processing. The course also trains them to enhance their skills in the utilization of modern tools such as optimization, statistic data analysis, simulation and finite element analysis so that they can resolve manufacturing issues.
Manufacturing Engineers can be employed in any industry that has an end product such as aerospace, oil refinery, automotive, pharmaceutical, plastics, and machinery etc. They can also apply as Lecturer or Faculty Member in Schools/ Colleges/ Institutes.
