A food and bar manager has a lot of responsibilities just like any other manager. All the restaurants and bars in the hotel report to the food and bar manager. It is the responsibility of the manager to coordinate with all the restaurant heads and bar heads to ensure that all the bars and restaurants not only run efficiently but also turn a profit. In addition to this, the main kitchen providing room service also reports to the FB manager. Typically a food and beverage manager has a pact schedule.

The food and beverage manager of a hotel is responsible for everything related to food and beverage in his or her hotel. This includes managing kitchen supplies, keeping stock of supplies, managing the kitchens and staff of every restaurant and bar in the hotel. To successfully accomplish this task the food and beverage manager relies heavily on the individual heads of each restaurant and bar.

It is the responsibility of the food and beverage manager of a hotel to check the quality of food being served at every restaurant as well as beverages in the bars. It is the sole responsibility of the FB manager to ensure quality. Other responsibilities that a food and bar manager also has is; meeting high profile guests as well as in certain cases; negotiating prices and discussing menus with certain clients related to functions. These meetings could be scheduled anywhere in the day.
