Although there is no fixed educational qualification required to be a real estate agent, it is preferable to be a graduate in any stream. The pay scale of novice can expect to receive is between two to three lacks, after a few years of experience a realtor can expect to earn between five to eight lacks per year and a senior executive in the real estate line can look to earn between the 12 to 15 lacks each year.

The real estate markets in India have developed significantly since the mid eighties, but saw the real spiking growth from the late 1990s onward. The price of property has increased hundredfold from 1990 till date. With the increase in property prices the number of realtors in the country has boomed.
