M.Sc in Medical Surgical Nursing Course Overview
M. Sc. Medical Surgical Nursing or Master of Science in Medical-Surgical Nursing is a two-year advanced postgraduate course in Nursing. This course specializes in training and developing the expertise of cardiovascular and thoracic nursing, and hence is considered to be one the most difficult course amongst specialties of nursing for students to understand and accomplish. The course prepares candidates towards becoming CardioVascular and Thoracic Nurse practitioners/ specialists. This course is a step towards preparing graduates in the field of scientific inquiry through initiation, validation, and application of research findings to nursing practice and even evaluation of nursing theory which stands conducive to advanced practice.
Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc in Medical Surgical Nursing Course
- As a minimum criterion of eligibility, aspiring candidates need to have completed graduation in any of the following:
-B.Sc. Nursing -B.Sc. Hons. Nursing -B.Sc. in Nursing Post Basic from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, and with a minimum aggregate score of 55%.
- Additionally, the candidate must:
-Be a Registered Nurse/ Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council. -Have a minimum of 1 year of work experience after B.Sc. in Nursing Basic. -Have a minimum of 1 year of work experience prior to, or B.Sc. in Nursing Post Basic.
