Master of Theology is an advanced post-graduate degree course in the field of Christian Theology offered by universities, divinity schools or seminaries. Typically, the course duration is 1 or 2 years. Theology is the study of the nature of God, the divine and the religious beliefs and principles. The course is the basic requirement for a person to teach Theology in any institute. A three-year undergraduate degree in theology or a master’s degree in divinity is required to pursue M.Th. A person who is interested in research in the field of religion or those who want to refine their knowledge of Christianity and its teachings should pursue this course.
Since this course can be pursued in universities as well as seminaries and divinity schools, the eligibility criteria may vary from one type of institute to another. M.Th. degree would make you eligible for formally teaching Theology in any of the institutes. It would also enable you to do further research in the field of religion.
