The Bachelor of Technology course in Urban and Regional Planning imparts the students with sound knowledge about town planning, area development, and land usage. It helps to understand the optimum utilization of resources for city development to ensure public welfare.
B.Tech Urban and Regional Planning is a four-year undergraduate course. It is divided into eight semesters of six months each. In every semester, students obtain detailed knowledge about how to formulate plans for the right usage of the environment, land, financial resources, social and economic elements, and so on.
This is targeted for overall city development, township planning, and national development. Students can make use of creative ideas and innovative technologies for the benefit of the public. For this course, students must possess skills relating to analysis, problem resolution, planning, and research.
On completion of this course, students can work in the real estate and town planning sectors. They can earn remuneration of around Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs, 7 lakhs per annum, depending on the level of expertise and skills.
This course provides students with the development aspects of an assigned area. Due to the fast growth of cities, demands for townships, residential complexes, and plots have increased. It is essential to perform urban and rural planning. Thus, students can gain an understanding of town planning and development aspects by studying this course.
For admission to this course, students must have passed with 50% marks in their 10+2 examination in the Science stream, especially in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. They should score well in their JEE examination. Diploma holders can also seek admission directly in the second year of this course.
