This unique professional course is aimed at helping students understand nautical science and architecture. This allows students to maintain or design structures on water or around it.
This four-year course is divided into eight semesters. On average students will have to invest between 2 to 8 Lakh INR on this course based on the institution that they opt for. Of course, the career options are promising with sectors like transportation, logistics and warehouse, shipping, offshore drilling, shipyards, marine engineering services and much more that offer an average entry level salary of 3- 6 Lakhs INR annually.
The main purpose of this course is to equip students with all the basic information about marine engineering. Practical workshops along with on-campus training are included in this curriculum. Students are taught several technologies and techniques that are used in the maintenance and construction of oil platforms, harbors, and ships. All the systems and machinery of marine structures are taught to students who opt for this course. Students are prepared with extensive knowledge in subjects like hydraulics turbine, naval architecture, control engineering, pneumatic, ship design etc.
Students applying for this course must have completed their senior secondary examination with an aggregate of 50% and core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In some colleges, age and marital status also fall under the eligibility criteria.
