Engineering is a vast field comprising of several branches like electrical, mechanical, chemical, civil, electronic, and computer sciences. Because of the vast scope for employment, engineering is an evergreen field sought after by students. A course in engineering is of four years in duration. Important engineering exams conducted in India are: IIT JEE, AIEEE, BITSAT, COMEDK, MHTCET, CETK, ENAT and other state board exams.
Students must have completed 10+2 pattern from a recognized board or university with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects. For procuring admission into reputed colleges, a good score in the entrance exam is mandatory.
In all entrance exams, the questions are objective based. Questions are related to subjects like Physics, Chemistry and mathematics. In some exams, questions related to aptitude, analytical reasoning and analytical skills are also included.
This exam is conducted nationwide for giving admission into various Indian Institutes of Technology. It is a two level exam. Candidates have to clear the first level of exam to appear for the next level. Based on the rank in the exam, different branches of engineering are allotted to the students.
All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is held by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) every year for giving admission into various engineering and architecture colleges spread all over India.
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is held annually by the Birla Institute of Technology which has its branches in Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa. This exam is conducted through online method. This institute is one of the premier institutes which started in 1929 for engineering and other sciences in India.
There are other state board exams which test the students’ caliber to give admission into the various engineering colleges located in the state.
