The Kollidam river borders the island of Srirangam to the north, while the Kaveri river borders it to the south. The Kollidam is the Kaveri River northern distributary. This is the location of the Shri Jambukeshwarar Temple. Lord Shiva (Jambukeshwara) and Shri Akhilandeshwari are the deities that preside over the temple. One of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalam is respected for it (The Five Elements). whereas Water is the element that rules the temple. Under the Shiva Linga, there is a freshwater spring. It is thought that the Jamun fruit will mature on the temple tree every day and that it will be presented to the god as the first offering (prasad).
