About the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS):
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is the premier and most reputable Indian medical institute. It is an autonomous institute and is situated in the city of New Delhi. It was established in the year 1956 and is recognized by the Indian Medical Council Act (IMCA). The institute awards its own distinctions in various academic fields and also its own degrees for different medical courses.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences offers myriad courses at the graduate and post-graduate level to those who wish to make a career in medicine. Not only does it offer graduate degrees in the core courses of medicine like MBBS, BDS, BHMS and post- graduate degrees in the same like MD, MS, MDS, but also graduate as well as post-graduate degrees in many other courses related to medical studies like Nursing, Urology, Nuclear Medicine, Perfusion Technology, Physiology, Anatomy and Pharmacology.
The AIIMS Entrance Exams
To apply to the courses offered by the AIIMS, one needs to sit for the entrance exams conducted by the institute. It conducts different entrance tests for different courses. The syllabus for each entrance test also varies with the variation in the course being applied for and the entrance exam being taken.
The main motive of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences behind the organization of these entrance tests is to set up a filter through which they can by-pass the applicants seeking admission to the institute and decide upon which of the test-takers are actually fit to pursue the medical courses offered by them.

All India Post-Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) for MD/MS/MDS/ P.G. Diploma
All India Institute for Medical Sciences Entrance Exam (AIIMSEE) for MBBS
AIIMSEE for PG (MD/MS/MDS)
AIIMSEE for Nursing
And the AIIMSEE conducted for the various other courses in medicine offered by the institute
Nationality : He/ She should be a Citizen of India.
Age :The candidate should have attained the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st December of the year of admission and above.
Qualifying Exam : Candidates should have passed 12th Class examination under 10+2 Scheme or an equivalent examination of a recognized Board with ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY.
Subjects (aggregate) : Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in 4 subjects of ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY are eligible for AIIMS test. For SC/ST candidates 50% marks in aggregate.
The admission notice and the application forms for the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree courses come out in the month of March and those for MBBS in the month of March. The announcements for the availability of application forms for the post-graduate courses is made in the month of September and that for the remaining courses is made twice a year- once in the month of March and once in August.
The B.Sc. and the MBBS entrance tests are held in June and those for the M.Sc. courses in the month of July. The post-graduate entrance test is conducted in the month of January and the tests for entry into the other courses are held twice- once in June and once in the month of December.
