What are Career opportunities after 10th standard?

Not many people are clear about the right selection they need to make for their career after completing 10th Grade. Students appearing for ten board exams are often left with this question in mind. According to the system of education, once the student has competed for 10th grade, he or she will have to make the selection of the right faculty of their interest – Commerce, arts of science. Making the right selection often confuses most students.

Students, who are already aware and decided, know what selection of career they want to make. To make the right decision, students need to get familiar with their interests and passion. In this article, we have provided a small list of careers they can select from after completing 10th.

Industrial training courses and centers

These are the courses that offer students training in the technical fields. The courses and centers help develop the skills of a student who is looking around for career building in specific fields of expertise including electrician, machinist, fitter, turner, etc. you have to keep in mind that when opting for these courses the duration may vary starting from one to three years. Once the student has completed the course, he shall be offered certification of NTC (National Trade Certificate) given away by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training). To get the certificate the student will have to appear and qualify for the All India Trade exam. Once cleared, they are eligible to work in any government sector.

Indian Army

This is an entrance exam that students have to appear for after completing 10th. They can apply and join the Indian Army for training in the technical or soldier field. The students will have to enter the Army at cadre level by opting for entrance exams like Indian Army soldier clerks exams (IASCE), Indian Army Soldier General Duty exam (AGDE), Nursing assistance exams for the Indian Army, etc.

When planning to join the Indian Navy, you will have an opportunity after completing 10th grade. You can join at the entry-level as a sailor, Artificer Apprentice, DockYard Apprentice, etc. You may have to appear for the entrance exam to qualify.

Indian Police Force

To be a part of the police force, students may have to appear for a physical test. They also have to appear for the written exam and can join at entry-level as CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) or Constable.


This is a staffing service commission exam that students have to give if they want to join as clerks in government offices. The student should have cleared 10th grade for appearing in this exam.
