Apex Professional University (APU) is a Statutory University established by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh vide Act 07 of 2013 and recognized by the UGC, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, New Delhi u/s 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956 as State Private University. Apex Professional University is empowered to award degrees specified by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. APU is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi and also approved by regulatory bodies like the Council of Architecture (CoA), Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE).

• Arunachal University of Studies

Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is a private university located in Namsai.

Arunachal University of Studies is a Self-Sponsored State Skill University of Arunachal Pradesh. The University was established in 2012 by an act of a State Legislator. It is part of the prestigious World Education Mission Group. The University is recognized by University Grants Commission (India) UGC u/s 22 of UGC Act 1956 and only NAAC accredited State University of Arunachal Pradesh. As per the statistics published by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh in 2018, the Arunachal University of Studies in terms of the number of students has become the biggest standalone institution of Arunachal Pradesh.

• Arunodaya University

Arunodaya University comes under section 2(f) of the UGC Act which empowers it to award degrees specified in section 22 of the UGC act of 1956. Apart from this, the University is authorized to award Diplomas, Degrees, Certificates, UG, PG, and other academic distinctions in conformity with the provisions of the Arunodaya University Act (Act No.13 of 2014).

• Himalayan University

Himalayan University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, India (Bhaaratham) is a non-profit university recognized by the University Grant Commission under section of 2f of the UGC act 1956. The university was established to develop and uplift the economy through higher education to raise the literacy rate that makes up the North-Eastern part of India. The University is accredited and recognized by AICTE, Pharmacy Council of India, Bar Council of India, Rehabilitation Council of India and is also a member of AIU, AIMA, CII, and Ph.D. Chamber.

• Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Science University

Indira Gandhi Technological And Medical Sciences University (IGTAMSU), is a private university located in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh providing higher education in Nursing, Yoga & Naturopathy, Paramedical, Physiotherapy, Management, Law, etc. The University was established in 2012, when the Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh passed Indira Gandhi Technological And Medical Sciences University Act 2012 (Arunachal Pradesh Act No.6 of 2012). The Indira Gandhi Technological And Medical Sciences University is accredited and recognized by the University Grants Commission under the section of 2(f) of UGC Act 1956.
