• Assam Don Bosco University

Assam Don Bosco University is a state private, non-profit, co-educational, Catholic research university located in Assam, India. The university was founded on March 29, 2008, by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and executed by the Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati. The university was officially established through the Assam Don Bosco University Act, 2009, on 9 January 2009, and created under the Assam Private Universities Act 2007.

The university which is located in Guwahati, Assam, India is Assam's first state university in the private sector.

• Assam Down Town University

Assam Down Town University was established through the Assam Down Town University Act, 2010 in the state of Assam, India in 2010. The university is located in Panikhaiti, Guwahati, the capital of Assam. The campus is based out of a 42 acres campus overlooking the Brahmaputra River, only 12 km from the Assam State Secretariat, Dispur; the capital complex of the state of Assam.

Starting from its humble beginning the campus now provides over 50 courses and has a total of over 5000 students from 10 Indian States as well as Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and also from Nigeria.

The university was established by the Down Town Charity Trust, which is promoted by Down Town Hospital Limited. The group has been in education and training since 1993.

• Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya

Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya or Krishnaguru Spiritual University is the sixth private university of Assam. The university is established by Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya Bill, 2017 which was passed by the Government of Assam on 9 March 2017.

The Krishnaguru Foundation set the private spiritual university at Nasatra in the Barpeta district. The foundation was set up by spiritual guru Krishnaguru.

On 3 August 2017 Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Vishvavidyalaya. The university which is imparts contemporary education in a blend with spiritualism.

• Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya

Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva (1449-1568) was a multi-dimensional genius, who transformed and modernized Assamese society with his egalitarian ideology. He worked in diverse fields like religion, literature, music, dance, drama, architecture, social reconstruction, etc. He translated most part of the Bhagavata Mahapurana into the Assamese language and was the first-ever playwright in any Indian language other than Sanskrit. He wrote more than 26 (twenty-six) scriptures mostly in the Assamese language besides the Brajawali form and one in Sanskrit. In addition, he had composed many lyrics/songs including the Borgeets. All these justify to call him SARVAGUNAKARA by his most loyal disciple Madhabadeva. His philosophy too was unique and different from other branches of Hindu philosophies. Above all, he was a humanist.

• The Assam Kaziranga University

Founded in 2012, Kaziranga University is one of the largest private universities in North-East India. Kaziranga University has been established under the Assam Private University Act No. XII of 2007, offering state-of-the-art education and research relevant to market needs. The University has been promoted by the Trust under the banner of The North Eastern Knowledge Foundation (NEKF) and founded in the year 2012 by the Khetan Industrial Group.

The social sensitivity and responsible entrepreneurship of both the groups have helped them to imbibe a culture of proedification in their endeavor and give back the knowledge and experience to the society that they have gathered over years of service to the nation.
