OVERVIEW

NEET 2018 Application Form is expected to be released in this week. CBSE Board organizes the NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) exam once in a year. CBSE NEET is a national level medical examination, which is conducted for selecting students for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. To get admission in UG medical/dental courses offered by various government & private colleges, students have to qualify the NEET 2018 examination.

HOW TO APPLY

Here we are providing the procedure to fill the NEET 2018 application form:

  • Visit the official website of NEET UG 2018 (link will be provided above).
  • Go through the online services section and click on “Apply Online” button.
  • Real all the given instructions carefully and click on “Proceed to Apply Online NEET (UG) 2018”.
  • The application form will be displayed on the screen.
  • Now, fill details like basic personal, guardian, contact, academic, exam centre and other required details in the application form.
  • Before submitting the details, verify them and click on the “Final Submit” button.
  • After that, a registration number will be generated.
  • Go through the “Upload Photo/Signature” section.
  • You have to click on the “Browse” button and select the scanned images of a photograph and signature.
  • You should upload the scanned images in the prescribed format.
  • After uploading the scanned images, click on “Next” button.
  • Select the application fee payment option and choose the payment mode.
  • Enter the required payment details and pay the application fee.
  • After completing the fee payment, candidates will be able to take printout of the confirmation page.
  • Candidates are suggested to take printout of the confirmation page to confirm the successful completion of the application process and fee submission.

ADMIT CARD

Candidates who have successfully submitted their application will be able to get the NEET 2019 Admit Card. Here we are providing details about admit card:

  • NEET hall ticket 2019 will be released from April 15, 2019.
  • The board will provide the facility to get the admit card via online mode.
  • A format for affixing of postcard size photograph will be released along with the admit card.
  • In case of any discrepancy found in the admit card, contact with the officials.
  • When a student will download their hall ticket, a PDF copy of the same will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID.
  • Failing to produce necessary documents, candidate might not be allowed to appear for the exam.

EXAM CENTER

  • The exam centres will be notified by the NTA before the release of the application form.
  • Previously, In 2018, NEET was held across 2255 exam centres in 136 cities.
  • Aspirants are required to fill in their choice of exam centre according to their order of preference while filling up the application.
  • However, the preference for NEET 2019 Exam Centers is still limited to 3 choices for all the applicants.
  • All the exam centers will have an option for taking NEET in English, Hindi and Urdu.
  • The option for vernacular languages will be limited to that particular state only. In total, 8 vernacular languages will be available apart from English, Hindi and Urdu.
  • Candidates in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya without Aadhaar Card need to select exam cities within their own state only. Final allocation of the center will be done by NTA on first-cum-first-serve basis.
  • NEET exam centres will be allotted according to the preference of the candidates and also according to the availability of centres for conducting NEET.

EXAM PATTERN

Below we are providing the details about NEET 2019 Exam Pattern:

  • Date of Exam: The exam will be organized on May 5, 2019.
  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be organized through Pen – Paper based (offline) mode.
  • Type of Questions: There will be objective type questions in the exam.
  • Duration: The exam duration will be of three hours.
  • Number of Questions: Total 180 questions will be asked.
  • Language: The question paper will be asked in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Kananda languages.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, four marks will be given.
  • Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

COUNSELLING PROCEDURE

NEET Counselling will be conducted for 15% All India Quota Seats and 85% for State Quota Seats. MCC under the aegis of MCI (Medical Council of India) manages the counselling for 15% AIQ seats while for remaining seats, state counselling authorities manage seat allotment and counselling. Seat Allocation will be done as per the rank and score obtained in the exam.

  • The basic process of NEET Counselling is indicated below for reference:
  • The counselling procedure requires qualified candidates to register online.
  • Once you’ve registered online, you can select the course and colleges as per your preference. Save and lock your choices once you’re done with the selection.
  • The process of seat allotment will be conducted in three rounds based on your rank and the choices filled during the online registration.
  • While most institutes follow a centralized counselling process, some may have their own counselling procedures.

ADMISSION PROCESS

After counselling, candidates must report to their allotted colleges within the specified time period. For the admission process, candidates must take original documents for verification along with self attested photocopies.
