Founded in 1951 with a handful of girls, the Ashok Hall Girls' Higher Secondary School has blossomed into one of the premier educational institutions of the country.

The senior section of the school, housing classes VI to XII, is situated in the southern end of the business district of Kolkata near Minto Park. The junior section - classes Lower Infant to class V, is situated in the heart of one of the posh areas of South Kolkata at Palm Avenue.
This institution is a Day school functioning from 0910 hours to 1520 hours on working days. There is a separate vocational stream in the morning hours. This morning section is for Classes XI and XII only and is co-educational.
The school is recognized by the State Government. It is permanently affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Every candidate must register with the school before appearing for interactive session / counselling / test.
LOWER INFANT
The Prospectus-cum-Registration forms are issued in December-January for Lower Infant. Parents should come along with the child for an interactive session as per the date and time mentioned on the Receipt-cum-Admit Card.
The age limit for admission to Lower Infant is 3+ as on 1st April of the year of application.
Parents must rank their preference of school in the Registration Form.
The following documents are to be submitted at the time of the interactive session.
Successful candidates are informed through post. No queries are entertained regarding this.
UPPER INFANT TO CLASS IX
Admission to classes Upper Infant to IX is generally in March/April and continues up to July. The numbers depend on the vacancies that occur in a particular class.
Students studying in other affiliated schools in Kolkata are not considered for the Primary and Secondary sections.
Parents should come along with the child concerned for the interactive session / test as per the date and time mentioned on the Receipt-cum-Admit Card.
Parents must rank their preference of school in the Registration Form.
The following documents are to be submitted at the time of registration:Only selected candidates will be intimated by post. Students must submit the original Transfer Certificate during admission. For student from outside West Bengal, original Transfer Certificates must be countersigned by the Education Officer / designated personnel of the Board / State concerned.
