Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Chandigarh Kendra was founded on 30 November 1983 by the great visionary Dr. K.M. Munshi.
At present the number of institutions under the management of the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan has reached a figure of 373 spread over 118 Kendras in the country. The total student strength is in the neighbourhood of 2 lakhs.
It is an organisation dedicated to creating awareness of India's rich heritage, scriptures, unity of all faiths and common spiritual truth given to the world community by sages and seers. It is an organisation with a national character and an international outlook. Bhavan works to make Indians proud of their motherland and underlying emphasis is always on moral values.
Bhavan has consistently pursued its goal of being a centre of excellence in the realm of academics and as is evident from the board results year after year, it has certainly been fulfilling its promise. An All India Survey of Schools was conducted by Education World 2012 in which 431 well known day schools were assessed by a carefully constituted respondent base comprising parents, principals, teachers and educationists across 14 parameters. We are proud to share with you that in this survey our school has an all India ranking of 42nd and its academic reputation has been ranked as 4th.
Our scholars have made their mark not only in the board examinations but in other competitive exams such as the NTSE (National Talent Search Competition) a national level examination conducted by NCERT every year. In 2011 Yuvraj Chopra and Shivam Gupta of Class IX cleared this exam with flying colours and have earned a scholarship that they can avail till they continue their studies. This year too our students of classes X and XII have added laurels to the institution’s impeccable track record.
In the CBSE Class X examination held in March 2012, our students performed exceeding well this year. As many as 61 students scored a perfect CCPA of 10 out of the total 144 students who had appeared and 49 students scored a CGPA between 9 and 9.8.
