The Society of the Sisters of St. Ann was founded in the year 1909, in Luzern, Switzerland, to response to the crying of the time. The Sisters tried to bring comfort and solace to the people in their utter misery and helplessness. This mission of love and compassion was planted in India in the year 1927 by the pioneering valiant woman Mother Elizabeth Affentranger and Mother Francisca Feer. Overcoming all the obstacles along the way, the Sisters catered to the various needs of the poor and the disadvantaged sections of the society in different parts of our state and extended itself in course of time to most of the states in the country. At first, the focus of attention was the health care and family services. Very soon, the need for taking up education ministry was keenly felt and we did not hesitate to venture into it. We are in the field of education ever since 1940. We envision Education as a means to the creation of a New Age characterised by the values of love, justice, peace, and brotherhood, by inculcating in every student, a well formed conscience, rooted in God and based on genuine human relationships and by channelizing their creativity, energy and initiatives towards the same end, through an integrated and well-planned programme of learning. At the completion of 25 years of carrying forward this vision here in Ajithsinghnagar, we cannot but recall and give thanks to God Almighty in the first place, and the many great and generous souls who toiled hard, assisted and enabled us to move forward to attain our present status.
