Founded in 1995 by The Williamson Magor Education Trust and spread over a sprawling 95 sylvan hectares, The Assam Valley School aims to prepare children for life and for global citizenship in the twenty-first century. This school has been established for the education of both boys and girls from primary through secondary school, from the State of Assam and beyond.

The greatness of an institution lies not in its state-of-the art infrastructure alone, but on the vision, tradition and legacy its built itself on. Nestled between the lush green tea gardens where the snowcapped mountains of Arunachal peep through the Nahors, The Assam Valley School prides itself in being a ‘School for adventure’ where education cherishes, enhances and inspires a student to be the best that they can be. The aspiration that lay at the core of its inception was to bring to the North East of India an institution which will be an amalgamation of the dynamics of a public school with a pan-Indian reach. The seed of this vision lay ensconced in the history of tea and the legend of the Williamson Magor Group, the world’s largest private tea company. It will be the drive and dynamism of Mrs. Julia Magor which will see to the inch by inch growth of this mammoth institution into the School, it is today.
