Financial Management

An MBA degree with specialization in financial management is a two year course. It is usually a full time, regular class, wherein students are supposed to attend college regularly.

Eligibility

A bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 60 percent marks makes one eligible for MBA in Financial Management. Some universities specify work experience as well. Students must have appeared for CAT, MAT or GMAT and the scores are considered for admission.

Course Content

Subjects like Corporate financial management, business and corporate law, marketing management, managing human resources, strategic management for executives, performance management, accounting and finance, Information Systems in Accounting and Finance are taught. Students can specialize in corporate financial instruments, Public Sector financial management or Quality management.

Scope

Students after completing the course can aspire to become financial analyst, finance officer, finance manager, finance planner, budget analyst or investment banker. They have wide scope for jobs in private and public sectors. All major companies, industries and firms have finance departments. Hence, the need for qualified finance managers is vast. Banks are another option to work for MBA finance graduates. Corporate offices of major companies also employ finance officers to manage the finance of the companies.

Students who want an academic career can take up teaching career as well. They can enroll for Ph.D program to further enhance their knowledge and skill. Qualified teachers are always in demand and are recruited by top colleges and universities.
