Finance

One can choose to build a career in several fields in Finance. It could be banking, investments, personal finance, corporate finance, portfolio management and so on. A Finance course teaches candidate's subjects like Economics, Financial Planning, Financial Analysis, Investment Planning, Portfolio Management, Tax Planning and so on. Several Institutes across India offer certificate, diploma, graduate and post graduate programs in Finance. One can also do a distance learning course in Finance. Course duration can vary from 6 months, for a short term course to 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate should have successfully cleared his 10+2 in any field to pursue a diploma or undergraduate course Finance. For PG courses a candidate must be a graduate with at least 50% marks. A career in the Finance industry is a very challenging one and hence a candidate should opt for a Finance course only if he loves playing with numbers and has good analytical, planning and decision making skills.

Career Prospects

On completion of a Finance course one apply in sectors such as Banking, Insurance, Capital Markets, Real Estate, Asset Management and Portfolio & Security Analysis. Job titles in such sectors could be Investment Banker, Relationship Manager, Analyst, Credit Control Manager, Teller, Stockbroker, Financial Planner, Underwriter, MIS executive etc.
