About Government Degree College Kulgam
Government Degree College Kulgam is one of the biggest co-educational colleges in the J&K State enrolling more than 4000 students. It was established in the year 2004 and was housed in four rooms of Govt. Higher Secondary School Kulgam. The college began its maiden session by enrolling 596 students in Arts stream. Twelve room lecture block (Arts Block) came to existence in year 2006 accommodating 2400 students at that time. Govt. Higher Secondary School Kulgam was shifted and its entire infrastructure was handed over to college in 2008 that made the college temporarily self-sufficient. A two stories Administrative Block was constructed and its first floor is being utilized for college library. A Beautiful Science Block and 12 classroom block are near completion of construction. Foundation work of Auditorium cum Library Block is in progress.
