Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park, Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur also known as STEP-HBTI is managed and sponsored by Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur and Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. STEP- HBTI is a member of CII (CONFEDERATION OF INDIAN INDUSTRIES) which is a nongovernment, industry led organization.
Since its year of establishment – 1921, HBIT-KANPUr has maintained its presence in the technical world with its dedication for the rapid industrial development and a healthy environment. HBTI is one of the most reputed and sought after engineering colleges of Uttar Pradesh.
It has always been considered to be the top 50 engineering colleges of the country. It offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in engineering, as well as Masters degrees in Business Administration and Computer Applications.
HBTI is the mother institute of the National Sugar Institute, the Government Central Textile Institute, now known as Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute and the Glass Institute.The institute is spread across two campuses, the east campus (77 acres) and the west campus (271 acres) 3 km apart.
