is a much-coveted exam for medical aspirants. The computer-based test gets over the nerves of the candidates who are seeking a seat in medical colleges. However well one may be prepared for the exam, last minute preparation and revision always comes handy.

It is important to note the exam pattern before the exam. The online exam has 200 objective questions in total from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Comprehension, and Logical and Quantitative Aptitude.

Some important last minute preparation tips to keep in mind before the exam are:

  • Practicing mock tests

In the end, the most important thing is to practice. Practice makes one perfect is apt for competitive exams aspirants. Practice as many mock tests and previous year question papers to get a hack of the exam pattern. It also helps you to analyze your performance and tells you about the weaker areas which need more attention. Also practicing these mocks and previous year’s question papers in the exam room scenario helps one to amp one’s speed and accuracy which is very important for an exam.

  • Maintaining focus and regular revision

Last minute preparation strategy is effective if one remains focussed. Steer away from any diversions in the end and stay focused on the exam preparation. Regularly revise the concepts by going through the notes. Have a positive outlook towards the exam and keep your spirits high with regard to the exam.

  • Follow NCERT thoroughly

JIPMER has been found to closely deal with the curriculum in its questions. Thus it is advisable for the aspirants to follow NCERT thoroughly. It has been found that many questions from AIIMS and JIPMER have been found to be picked directly from the NCERT textbook. While preparing, make short notes from the textbook and go through them during revision. Practice questions from the book. Consult external reference material to get more clarity on the concept.

  • Relax

Getting anxious and all stressed out, in the end, can seriously hamper your performance despite good preparation. Relax and maintain your calm and composure in the mind by keeping your mind and body healthy. Have healthy meals, indulge in any outdoor sport, perform yoga and meditation and interact with family. In the end, study and revision are important and so is keeping calm. During your study schedule, take regular and small breaks to rejuvenate your energy levels.

Lastly, keep in mind that before going to the examination center, keep yourself calm and do not take notes or books to the center. Finish your revision at home itself.
