About LLM in International Law Course

LL.M with a specialization in International Law is a master’s degree taken after a bachelor’s degree which is offered in many colleges in India. The general duration of the course, when done on a full-time/ regular basis, is two years however it may vary in the case of part-time or correspondence.

Purpose of the course

The course aims to equip students with a deep understanding of international law.

What is LLM (International Law)?

LLM in International Law is the study of fundamentals of International Law which deals with the legal interactions between nations, companies, or governments.

The course itself has many specializations in it such as international security law, international environmental law, diplomatic law, international economic law, and international human rights law, etc.

Some of the common topics under this course are law treaties and negotiation practices, means of settling international economical disputes, state responsibility for dangerous activities, and state elements of liability for internationally wrongful conduct, etc.

Eligibility

• Students seeking admission in this course must have a Bachelor’s degree (in the related stream) from a recognized university in which they must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate.
• SC/ ST students have 5% of relaxation in the minimum aggregate.

Career Options

Students having an LLM degree in International Law can be appointed as Legal Assistant, Lawyer, Policy Advisor/ Analyst, Project Officer, Teacher/ Professor, and Caseworker, etc.
