Graphic Era Institute of Technology established in 1997 carries a story of focused approach towards technical and professional education, training and innovative methods of teaching and learning. GEIT catered to the knowledge and skill set as per the industry needs and in tune with time. The Deemed to be status of the University awarded in August 2008, bears testimony to the quality of academic standards, delivery and assessment system adopted by it. GEU has more than 8000 students with great brilliance, academic vigor and competitive spirit. It has state-of-the-art infrastructure and amenities that provide a suitable and conducive learning environment. GEU is composed of an ethnically diverse student population and we find that diversity to be a source of great richness in our students' educational experience.

Under the aegis of Graphic Era Educational Society, a state-of-the-art "Graphic Era Hill University" has been setup in order to cater the needs of professional and technical education in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand.

Graphic Era Hill University has campuses at Dehradun and Bhimtal.

GEU is Declared as Deemed University U/S 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Notification F.9-48/2007-U.3(A) dated August 14, 2008 and Approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

An eminent academician and computer engineer of repute, Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Ghanshala has emerged as a new face of imparting holistic education. His foresight and acumen has soared this institution as a pioneer in technical education. Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Ghanshala founded Graphic Era in the year 1993 as one of his bold venture in providing service to the society through a private educational system, without looking for any form of assistance from other agencies.

The university is nestled amidst the beautiful and serene surroundings of Rajaji National Park, Dehradun, and offers an environment that fosters learning and stimulates creativity. Pleasant weather all round the year ensures that the students enjoy a rich and vibrant atmosphere.
