The College Of Engineering, Trivandrum was established in 1939 by Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the Maharaj of Travancore. It is the first Engineering College in the Travancore State.

• The institution owes its foundation to National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited both undergraduate and post-gradute programmes of the College.
• The College was shifted to the present sprawling 125 acres in 1960.
• The College ranks among the top in the country in the quality of its graduates and the number of top jobs held by its graduates.
