About
The Department of Food Processing Technology (FPT) at Tezpur University
is one of the five constituent departments under the School of
Engineering was established in 2006 with a view to create trained and
skilled human resources to cater to the needs of the rapidly growing
food processing sector. The department is currently offering M.Tech. and
Ph. D. programmes and was started in 2006 by offering M.Sc. programme
in FPT. The department is offering B. Tech. programme in Food
Engineering & Technology from the session 2010-11. The programmes
aim at providing the students both with skills and knowledge to succeed
as professionals and entrepreneurs. Tezpur University is the only
University in North-East India to offer such programmes.
