The Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Science & Technology, Jagdeopath, Patna- a constituent unit of Rajendra Agricultural University, Sabour, Samastipur was established as per the act of Bihar Agricultural University act, 1971. The Govt. of Bihar granted approval vide resolution No. 2813, dated – 14.12.1980. The financial support is being provided by the Govt. of Bihar and Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi to Rajendra Agricultural University to run this institute. Rajendra Agricultural University has well established set – up to manage and monitor its various activities like education, research and extension through academic council, research council and extension council respectively. Financial management is made through comptroller and is subjected to the internal audit of the university and also auditing by the Auditor General of Bihar state.
