Karnataka Examination Board conducts a online examination regrding to the addmission in undergraduation engineering courses. It also offer the online test for professional courses. The score of Karnataka Common Entrance Examination is key to take admission in the different colleges of Karnataka State.

KCET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Karnataka Common Entrance Test is not only for the students who are the citizens of Karnataka. It is known for its education and educational environment. Every year, the Karnataka government conducts the entrance exams for various professional courses. Several students take admissions into the renowned colleges and institutes of Karnataka by clearing the KCET exams. The one who clear the exams gets the opportunity to study further into Karnataka and make their future a successful one. It is one of the popular exams such as CAT, MAT, IBSAT, GATE, etc.

  • Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (QE) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study are eligible to apply for KCET exam.
  • Aspirants who have secured minimum of 45% marks in the optional subjects in the QE are eligible for to apply for Engineering/Technology courses (40% for QE in case of SC, ST, Category-I and OBC category candidates).
  • The marks obtained by a candidate in Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science in the QE, will be considered in place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained by him/her Chemistry are lesser than what the required aggregate percentage. However, this will be done only for the purpose of determination of eligibility and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of Engineering / Technology courses.
  • The Engineering rank list will be prepared and published based on the candidate’s performance in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in both KCET 2018 as well as QE wherein the marks of each exam will be taken in equal proportion.
  • For (BTech) Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology, Bachelor of Fishery Science, and BSc in Agriculture Marketing and Co-operation course.
  • KCET 2018 eligibility criteria for the above mentioned courses states that candidates can apply for these courses if they have passed their qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.
  • Also, based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects in both CET and QE by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission.

KCET APPLICATION PROCESS

There are several courses such as engineering, medical, architecture, naturopathy, etc. According to your interest, you can get the admissions into the respective fields. We all have a dream in our eyes that we want to fulfill by hook or by crook. After the completion of 10th or 12th grades, students study hard to get admissions into the prestigious colleges. To make your future a bright and successful one, you need to prepare well with your studies. The study material and the process of study provided in Karnataka are much better than other institutes. KCET EXAM PATTERN

Comprising of 240 questions that has to be solved in the maximum time limit of three hundred and ten minutes is necessary while you appear into the examination. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology are some common subjects that are asked into the examination. So, you need to be clear and accurate while answering them. The concept should be clear and perfect. Each correct answer would provide you with 1 mark and each wrong answer would not be counted. So, you have to be accurate and correct enough while answering. Candidates need to appear for CET in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects to secure admissions in Medical, Dental, Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy courses whereas those seeking admissions in Engineering / Technology courses conducted by KEA need to appear for entrance exams in Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects. On the other hand, Architecture course aspirants need to appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) which is conducted by the Council of Architecture.

KCET is usually spread out over two days wherein aptitude of candidates is tested in four subjects. The tests for these subjects are held in four different sessions.


Marking system :


Each paper in KCET is of 80 minutes duration and candidates can secure maximum of 60 marks in each exam.The CET has Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) wherein for every correct response candidates are awarded one mark. There is no negative marking in KCET.


Here we have mentioned details about KCET 2019 exam pattern:


  • Type of Questions : There will be multiple choice questions asked in the exam.
  • Mode of Exam : The exam will be conducted through pen and paper based mode in OMR pattern.
  • Answering Mode : Candidates must use blue/black ball point pen to answer.
  • Marking Scheme : Each question will contain one mark. No marks will be given in case of multiple answers for the same question.
  • Negative Marking : There will be no negative marking done for the wrong answers.

KCET ADMIT CARD

Students will be able to get the KCET hall ticket 2019 through online mode only. It will be provided in the month of April 2019.

Candidates have to carry the admit card along with any of the ID proof like Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN Card, College ID Card or 12th exam admission ticket/bus pass.
