With the scope of Science and Technology increasing day- by- day, studies and courses in these fields are becoming exceedingly popular. More and more students are now opting for courses that deal with some or the other branch of Science, reason being that these courses guarantee one a great career in industrial as well as manufacturing units. They also work as a launching pad for those who want to work abroad or those who wish to make Research in or Development of Science their career.
To test which students are capable of pursuing Science as a career and providing them with a chance to do so and filtering out the rest, various entrance exams are conducted for admission to the different institutes and courses.
To be eligible to sit for these exams, one needs to take up Science (with Biology or Math) at the class 12 levels.
Almost all the Universities in India offer courses B.Sc. and M.Sc. courses. Some reputable ones are the University of Delhi, the Bangalore University, the Allahabad University, and the Banaras Hindu University. The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) which are government institutes offer an integrated 5- year M.S. course which is an amalgam of B.Sc. as well as M.Sc. B.C.A. and M.C.A. courses are offered by most of the technological institutes and colleges across the country.
