Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi is one amongst the five campuses of the University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. It was established in 2003 with approximately 40 acres of land area. It is a multi-disciplinary research and teaching university. It is also known as Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Kochi Campus or Amrita University, Kochi. The university is managed by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma, one of the foremost humanitarian leaders in the world today. The campus though dominated by the health science schools, is not entirely restricted to medical sciences and has a School of Arts and Sciences and School of Business as well.

(AIMS) – It is has total of 3, 330, 000 sq. ft. of built-up area spread over 125 acres of land supports a daily patient volume of about 3000 outpatients with 95 percent inpatient occupancy. The hospital has received the ISO 9001-2008 accreditation. It is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for its laboratories and the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) for the hospital overall.
