About
Indian Veterinary Research Institute Kolkata was established as a joint
venture between IVRI (ICAR) and All India Institute of Hygiene &
Public Health with WHO collaboration, to train specialists in veterinary
public health, leading to the degree of MVPH of Kolkata University. The
Regional Station conducts research activities related to important
problems of veterinary public health and diseases of regional
importance. The Station undertakes systematic epidemiological survey and
research on zoonotic and other animal diseases of importance in the
region. Institute aim is to undertake systematic epidemiological survey
of animal diseases and providing referral diagnostic facilities for
animal diseases in the region and maintenance of repository animal
pathogens of regional problems.
