This was started as a part-time venture by Dr. J.B. Banerji for providing rehabilitation equipment to physically challenged people using local and scrap materials. Using help from artisans, he provided simple treatments using low-cost to the needy and poor having disability. The college was formally established in 1976 and got its new name.
