JEE Advanced ADMIT CARD

JEE Advanced admit card will be released in 4th week of June. Check below the details about admit card:

  • Candidates can get their admit card through online mode.
  • The admit card will be released by the authority in the Fourth week of June.
  • The admit card will bear the candidate’s photograph and signature along with other necessary details related to the exam.
  • In case of any discrepancy in the printed admit card, candidates should immediately contact the Chairman, JEE (Advanced) of the respective zonal coordinating IIT.
  • Candidates also have to bring one original photo Id proof at the time of examination.

JEE Advanced ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced is as follows:


  • Qualifying in JEE MAIN examination
  • Age limit
  • Number of attempts
  • Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination
  • Earlier admission at IITs/ISM
General category candidates (from the common merit list) 50.5%
OBC-NCL candidates 27%
SC candidates 15%
ST candidates 7.5%
Pwd candidates Horizontal reservation of 5% in all the above categories

 

Age limit


General or OBC-NCL category candidates states that aspirants will be eligible to apply for the entrance exam if they are born on or after October 1, 1994. However, age limit for SC, ST or PwD category candidates states that such aspirants should be born on or after October 1, 1989.

Number of attempt : 2

 

Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination


Candidates can appear for this engineering entrance exam if they have appeared for their Class XII or equivalent exam in 2018 or 2019. Here, candidates also need to ensure that this should be their first attempt in all the subjects they have opted in Class XII or equivalent.


Earlier admission at IITs/ISM


Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2018 can appear in JEE (Advanced).

JEE Advanced EXAM PATTERN

The exam will comprise 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2 of 3 hours duration each.

Each question paper will consist of 3 separate sections- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Negative marks may be awarded for marking the incorrect answer.

Paper 2- 240
Total Questions Paper 1- 90
Paper 2- 60
Nature of Questions Paper 1- Objective type
Paper 2- Numerical Type
  • Mode: From 2018, the exam is conducting through online mode.
  • Paper: JEE Advanced 2019 will be consisting of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Both papers are compulsory to attempt.
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours will be provided for each paper. Some extra time will be given to the PwD candidates.
  • Shift: The paper 1 will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and paper 2 will be organized from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
  • Type of Questions: Objective type questions will be asked in the exam.
  • Language: The language of the exam will be in English and Hindi.
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects will be asked in the exam.
  • Negative Marking: There is a provision of negative marking. It is different for each paper.

JEE Advanced COUNSELLING

Counselling get started after the announcement of final result. Counselling has following 4 steps


Step 1 - Registration

  • Visit the official website i.e. jeeadv.ac.in to register
  • Enter your registration number, roll number, date of birth and password

Step 2- Online Choice Filling

  • Log-in using your credentials to choose branch, course and institute
  • Lock your final choices before the due date
  • Take a print of all choices you lock
  • In case, access to the JCOP (Counselling portal) is denied, call on the JEE Advanced helpline number provided on the official website or submit an online request to JEE helpline (jeehelpline@admin.iiitd.ac.in)

Step 3- Seat allotment

  • On the basis of Date of Birth (DOB)
  • Nationality
  • Percentage of disability

Step 4 – Allocation of Seats

  • The final step in the counselling process is the allocation of seats. All the details regarding availability of seats in the participating institutes and cutoff will be updated on the official website of JoSAA.
